Is Pepperstone or Equiti better for trading in Dubai?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • For most traders in Dubai we prefer Pepperstone: a $10 minimum gets you Razor pricing (EUR/USD 0.1 pips average plus $3.50 per side) on five platforms including cTrader, whereas Equiti's raw-spread Premier account starts at $3,000.
  • Equiti has the stronger onshore licence: a UAE CMA Category 1 trading-broker licence (20200000026), while Pepperstone's Dubai company holds a Category 5 arrangement-and-advice licence and its CFDs are issued from the Bahamas.
  • Equiti's Swap Free Mini account has no swap or admin fees on deposits up to $25,000, something Pepperstone does not offer UAE residents.
  • Equiti's UAE pages warn that losses can exceed deposits; Pepperstone's UAE risk disclosure gives retail clients negative balance protection.

Equiti is a Gulf-focused broker with an onshore dealing licence; Pepperstone is a global broker whose best pricing is easier to reach. Which suits you depends mostly on deposit size and whether you need swap-free trading.

Our pick for most Dubai traders

Pepperstone gives every client its raw-spread Razor pricing from a $10 deposit: 0.1 pips average on EUR/USD plus $3.50 per side. To get Equiti's equivalent, its Premier account at a typical 0.0 pips plus $3.50 per side, you need $3,000. Pepperstone also offers cTrader alongside MT4, MT5 and TradingView, AED accounts, and Mashreq Bank or Barclays transfers.

Licences in Dubai: Category 1 versus Category 5

Equiti Securities Currencies Brokers LLC holds a UAE CMA Category 1 trading-broker licence (20200000026) as well as a Category 5 introduction and promotion licence (20200000352). Pepperstone Financial Services LLC, based at Emaar Square in Downtown Dubai, holds a Category 5 arrangement-and-advice licence (20200000358). The CFDs themselves are issued by Pepperstone Markets Limited under a Bahamas SCB licence, and the group's DIFC company is regulated by the DFSA (F004356). On onshore regulation alone, Equiti is ahead.

Account tiers and published EUR/USD pricing

'Typical' and 'average' aren't identical measures, so treat this as a guide. Per lot, Pepperstone Standard comes to about $11 against about $14 on Equiti Standard; on the raw accounts, Equiti Premier is about $7 and Pepperstone Razor about $8 on MT5 or $7 on cTrader.

Swap-free terms and the welcome bonus

Equiti's Swap Free Mini account (Standard or Premier, on MT5) charges no swap and no admin fee on deposits up to $25,000, covering majors, precious metals and indices. Pepperstone does not offer a swap-free account to UAE residents, so this is a clear Equiti advantage for traders who need one. Equiti also advertises a 30% first-deposit bonus on MT5 for deposits from $100; read the bonus conditions before you accept it.

Before you fund either account

  • Read the client agreement and note which company you contract with: Equiti's Category 1 LLC or Pepperstone Markets Limited.
  • Choose a base currency: Pepperstone offers AED; check Equiti's options on its account page.
  • Decide whether you need swap-free before opening, since Equiti offers it in the UAE and Pepperstone doesn't.
  • Ask Equiti about negative balance protection: its UAE pages warn that losses can exceed deposits.
  • Fund a small amount, then test a withdrawal before trading full size.

Trading CFDs and forex on margin is high risk: leverage can wipe out a deposit quickly, and these products are complex. Nothing here is investment advice. Broker fees, licences and account terms change, so check them on the broker's own site before you sign up.
