Local Gulf funding: mada, KNET, AED transfers and account currencies
International cards and wires work everywhere but cost you conversion fees and days of waiting. Local rails do not. This page records, per broker, what its own deposit-methods table actually lists for the Gulf — not what a review site assumes.
| Broker | mada | KNET | UAE local bank | AED account | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
UAE page lists Mashreq Bank and Barclays Bank local transfers (no minimum, up to 2 business days), plus cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay. AED is an available base currency alongside GBP, USD, EUR, AUD. No mada or KNET on any funding page; no SAR base currency. | Not published | Not published | Yes | Yes | Open account |
LEAN (UAE open-banking rails) published for the United Arab Emirates in AED and USD. AED base-currency accounts offered in UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain; SAR not offered. USDT available to Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar clients under the Bahamas licence. Neither mada nor KNET appears in the published deposit-methods table. | Not published | Not published | Yes | Yes | Open account |
Base currencies published are USD, EUR, GBP, CHF and SEK — no AED or SAR. Methods include bank transfer, cards, Neteller, Skrill, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and crypto, but no Gulf-local rail. A 0.5% conversion fee applies when the transaction currency differs from the account base currency. | Not published | Not published | Not published | No | Open account |
AED is a published account funding currency (alongside AUD, USD, EUR, GBP, SGD, HKD, NZD, CHF, CAD, JPY, PLN, CZK); SAR is not. The UAE funding page accepts card deposits in AED and SAR, and Apple Pay / Google Pay in AED, SAR, KWD, BHD, QAR, OMR and JOD — these are processing currencies, not local Gulf schemes. | Not published | Not published | Not published | Yes | Open account |
Published deposit methods: cards, bank transfer including WISE, Skrill, Neteller. Local bank-transfer and e-wallet options are stated to exist for certain South East Asian, Latin American and African markets — the Gulf is not among the regions named. | Not published | Not published | Not published | Not published | Open account |
Published local-currency accounts are GBP, EUR, AUD and DKK only — no AED or SAR, and no mada or KNET reference on the fees page. | Not published | Not published | Not published | No | Open account |
XM publishes no public funding-methods page — deposit and withdrawal options sit behind the Members Area login, so no Gulf rail can be confirmed either way. Minimum deposit is $5. | Not published | Not published | Not published | Not published | Open account |
No public deposit-methods page was reachable; the UAE site returns an access error from outside the region. | Not published | Not published | Not published | Not published | Open account |
Published methods: bank wire, cards, crypto, Skrill, Neteller, UnionPay. The site states plainly: payments are processed in EUR, GBP, ZAR and USD only — so no AED or SAR. | Not published | Not published | Not published | No | Open account |
Published account base currencies are AUD, USD, GBP, EUR, SGD, CAD, NZD, JPY, HKD and PLN — no AED, no SAR. The deposit policy states available methods vary by base currency and location, with the full list only inside the client portal. | Not published | Not published | Not published | No | Open account |
Which brokers accept mada cards?
Very few publish mada support in their own deposit-methods tables, which is why this page records it explicitly rather than assuming. Where a broker does not publish it, we say so rather than guessing — check during signup, since local rails are often added without announcement.
Why does an AED or SAR account currency matter?
If your account is denominated in USD but you fund it in dirhams or riyals, you pay a conversion spread on the way in and again on the way out. An account held in your own currency removes both. The table shows which base currencies each broker publishes for the Gulf.
