Which brokers let you trade VIX CFDs?
Verdict
- Pepperstone is our overall pick for UAE index traders, but we could not confirm a VIX CFD in its published index list, so treat it as unverified until you see the symbol on the platform.
- We also have no verified VIX product for Capital.com or XS, so we name no broker as a confirmed VIX provider on this page.
- If you want to trade volatility around the S&P 500, Pepperstone's US500 CFD averages 0.4 points on Razor, with no commission and 1:200 UAE retail leverage on major indices.
- Before trading any VIX CFD, find out what it is priced from: the VIX itself is an index and cannot be bought, so CFDs on it usually follow VIX futures.
This answer comes with a caveat. The index lists we could verify for the brokers we cover in the UAE do not include the VIX, so we won't tell you a broker offers one when its own pages, as we checked them, don't show it. Below: what we did confirm, how to check a platform for a VIX contract in two minutes, and what to understand before trading one.
Our pick for index traders, and why the VIX is unconfirmed
Pepperstone remains our first choice for UAE residents who trade indices. Its index-fees page (August 2026 data) prices eleven indices: US500, NAS100, US30, GER40, UK100, JPN225, HK50, AUS200, CN50, FRA40 and EUSTX50. The VIX is not among them, and Pepperstone's account tables count 26 index CFDs without naming them all, so a VIX contract may exist without appearing in the fee table. We simply cannot confirm it. What we can confirm is pricing on the market the VIX is built from: US500 averages 0.4 points on Razor and 0.5 on Standard, with no commission on index CFDs.

How to check any platform for a VIX CFD
- Open a demo account; you don't need to deposit to see the symbol list.
- In MT5's Market Watch or the broker's app, search for 'VIX' and 'Volatility', since brokers name the contract differently.
- Open the contract specification and read three lines: what it is priced from (spot index or a futures month), whether it expires or rolls, and the trading hours.
- Note the margin requirement and the spread at a busy time of the US session.
- Ask support in writing whether retail clients in the UAE can trade it, and under which company.
What makes a VIX CFD different from other index CFDs
The VIX measures the volatility that S&P 500 option prices imply over the next 30 days; it is calculated by Cboe and is not a basket of shares you could own. Contracts that track it are usually based on VIX futures, and futures prices can sit well above or below the spot VIX figure quoted in the news. If a CFD rolls from one futures month to the next, the switch can change your position's value even when the VIX hasn't moved. The index also tends to spike when stocks fall and then drift back, so a long VIX position held for weeks can lose value steadily. Read the specification before you size any trade.

Does Pepperstone offer a VIX CFD?
We could not confirm one. The VIX is not in the index fee table we checked, so search the platform's symbol list or ask Pepperstone before you open an account for it.
Can I buy the VIX index directly?
No. The VIX is a calculated index, so traders use products based on VIX futures or options, or CFDs that follow them.
Is there another way to trade S&P 500 volatility?
Trading the S&P 500 itself is the simplest route. Pepperstone's US500 CFD has a 0.4-point Razor average and no commission, but it gives you exposure to the index's direction, not to volatility as such.
Volatility products and leveraged CFDs are among the riskiest instruments a retail trader can use, and losses can be fast and large. This page is not investment advice; confirm any product's specification with the broker before trading.
