Which trading platforms have built-in AI tools?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • We could not verify a built-in AI tool on any trading platform we cover; Pepperstone, our pick, offers automation and analysis add-ons instead: cTrader Automate, MT4/MT5 expert advisors, API trading and its Smart Trader Tools.
  • Pepperstone's Smart Trader Tools include Trade Terminal, Correlation Matrix, Trade Simulator, Mini Terminal, Smart Lines and Connect for MT4 and MT5.
  • Pepperstone's own counts of those tools differ (28 on one page, 60+ on another), a sign to check the current list before choosing.
  • If you use AI, the practical route is to have it help write or test strategy code that runs on MT5, cTrader or an API.

Many platforms advertise 'AI', but very little of it is published in a form we can check against the broker's own terms. So this page sticks to what we could verify: the automation and analysis tools that actually ship with the platforms Pepperstone and its peers offer, and how an AI model can plug into them.

What Pepperstone offers in place of built-in AI

Pepperstone gives Australian clients five platforms: its own web platform and app, MT4 and TradingView (on Razor), MT5 and cTrader. The tools that do the heavy lifting are rule-based rather than AI-branded. cTrader Automate runs C# cBots; MT4 and MT5 run expert advisors; API trading lets your own program place orders. On MetaTrader, the Smart Trader Tools add-ons supply a trade terminal, a correlation matrix and other utilities. Pepperstone also offers its traders a free Bloomberg.com Premium Digital subscription, subject to terms.

Using AI with these platforms

  • Code: an AI assistant can draft MQL5 or C# for an expert advisor or cBot; you still need to read and test it.
  • Testing: run the strategy on history in MT5 or cTrader, then at minimum live size.
  • Signals: a model running on your own computer can send orders through API trading.
  • Limits: ASIC's retail leverage caps (1:30 on major FX) and Pepperstone's lack of guaranteed stops apply whatever generates the order.

Other brokers' platforms

Capital.com, our second choice, lists its own web platform and app, MT4, MT5 and a TradingView integration, and permits expert advisors. IG lists ProRealTime, L2 Dealer and APIs alongside MetaTrader. We have not verified a built-in AI trading tool at any of them; if one is advertised to you, ask the broker what it does, who controls the trades and whether it is covered by the PDS.

Terms as each broker publishes them on its own site.

Does MetaTrader 5 have built-in AI?

Not that we can verify from broker terms. MT5 runs expert advisors, which can be written with AI help, and Pepperstone adds Smart Trader Tools.

Does Pepperstone use AI to execute trades?

Pepperstone does not describe its execution as AI. It states execution from 50 milliseconds with a 99.32% fill rate and no dealer intervention (January to March 2026).

Is cTrader Automate an AI tool?

No. It runs C# cBots that follow the rules you code, which can include logic produced by an AI model.

CFDs are complex and leveraged, with a high risk of losing money rapidly; analysis tools and automation do not change that. Read the PDS and TMD. Platform tools are as brokers publish them and can change. Not investment advice.
