Which trading app offers a demo account?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Pepperstone is our app pick for Singapore traders, but its demo-account terms were not on the pages we verified, so we don't state them; confirm the demo option when you sign up.
  • What we can verify is a low-risk live route: Pepperstone opens from $10, card and e-wallet deposits are free and instant, and a 0.01-lot EUR/USD trade on Standard costs about 11 cents in spread.
  • For MetaTrader users, Pepperstone's Smart Trader Tools include a Trade Simulator add-on, which is a practice tool on top of the platform rather than a separate demo account.
  • Pepperstone holds no MAS licence; Singapore clients are served by its Bahamas entity (SCB, SIA-F217).

Most trading apps let you practise with virtual money, but the details that matter (how long the demo lasts, whether prices match live) differ by broker. We only publish terms we have checked. Here is what we can confirm for Pepperstone, and how to practise without fooling yourself.

Our pick, and what we could and couldn't confirm

We recommend Pepperstone for practice and for the move to real money because the step between the two is small and cheap. Confirmed: a $10 minimum, five platforms on one account (its own app and web platform, MT4, MT5, cTrader and, on Razor, TradingView), and a Trade Simulator among the Smart Trader Tools add-ons for MetaTrader. Not confirmed from the published pages in our fact check: the length, balance or pricing of a Pepperstone demo account. That is why we don't describe one here. Check the sign-up page; if a demo is offered, use it for the platform mechanics below.

What a demo teaches, and what it can't

Virtual money is good for learning where the buttons are: how to size a trade in lots, set a stop-loss and take-profit, read the margin figure and close part of a position. It is poor at teaching the two things that cost beginners most. The first is execution: a demo order rarely meets the gaps and partial fills a live order can. The second is behaviour: people hold losing virtual trades far longer than real ones. Treat a demo as a manual for the app, not as evidence that a strategy works.

A $10 live account as a test drive

A tiny live account tests the whole chain that a demo skips, from deposit to withdrawal, for a few cents of trading cost:

  1. Fund $10 by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; Pepperstone lists these as free and instant.
  2. Pick SGD as the base currency if you will fund in Singapore dollars.
  3. Place a 0.01-lot EUR/USD trade on the Standard account: about 10 cents a pip, so the 1.1-pip average spread costs about 11 cents.
  4. Set a stop-loss and watch how the margin and profit figures move.
  5. Withdraw the balance. Card withdrawals take up to 2 business days on Pepperstone's international table and are free.

Apps for Singapore residents: what we can verify

We hold no verified demo terms for any of these firms, so the table sticks to what we have checked.

Does Pepperstone offer a demo account?

We could not confirm Pepperstone's demo terms from the pages we verified, so we don't state them. Check the account sign-up page before you register.

Is the Trade Simulator a demo account?

No. It is one of Pepperstone's Smart Trader Tools for MT4 and MT5, an add-on for testing scenarios on the platform, not a separate practice account.

How long should I practise before trading live?

Until you can open, size, protect and close a trade without hesitating. Then move to a very small live account, because a demo cannot show you real fills or real nerves.

Do demo prices match live prices?

Not always, and brokers describe this differently. Ask whether the demo uses the same spreads and execution model as the live account you plan to open.

CFDs are leveraged products and you can lose money quickly; practising on virtual funds does not remove that risk once you trade live. This page is not investment advice.
