Which stocks can I trade as perpetuals?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • At Pepperstone, our pick, 12 single stocks are listed as perpetual CFDs on the Australian costs page: AMD, CXMT.CN, DRAM, GOOGL, MSTR, MU, NVDA, SKHYNIX.KR, SMSN.KR, SNDK, SPCX (SpaceX) and TSLA.
  • Pepperstone's EU and UK pages also name Unitree, which is not on the Australian list; in the UK it is for professional clients only.
  • All carry 0.015% commission per side except MSTR, which is 0.03%.
  • The list mixes US tickers with Korean and Chinese ones, and every contract trades 24/7.

The single-stock perpetual list is short and leans heavily toward chips and large technology names. Here it is grouped by listing, with the cost of each and the alternatives for stocks that are missing.

Pepperstone's 12 single-stock perpetuals in Australia

The issuer is Pepperstone Group Limited (AFSL 414530), and the contracts run on TradingView, MT5, cTrader and the Pepperstone app. No other broker in our fact files publishes a single-stock perpetual, so this is the list to work from.

What the list covers

Most of the names are memory and chip makers or large US technology companies: Nvidia, AMD, Micron, Sandisk, SK hynix and Samsung Electronics, alongside Tesla, Alphabet, MSTR and SpaceX. If your interest is the semiconductor cycle, the list is well stocked; if it is banks, miners or consumer brands, you will need ordinary share CFDs.

Perpetual or ordinary share CFD for the same name?

Pepperstone also offers ordinary CFDs on more than 600 US shares, at $0.02 per share per side, and more than 100 of them trade 24/5 under the '-24' suffix. For a $10,000 position at an illustrative $200 a share (50 shares), the commission compares like this:

  • Ordinary US share CFD: 50 × $0.02 = $1.00 per side, plus overnight swap.
  • Perpetual CFD: 0.015% × $10,000 = $1.50 per side, plus daily funding.
  • The perpetual buys weekend trading and a funding rate known a week ahead; the share CFD is cheaper to enter and exit.

Stocks you will not find as perpetuals

No ASX company is on the list. For Australian shares, Pepperstone offers around 200 ASX share CFDs as ordinary CFDs at 0.07% commission per side, with no minimum. Other US names, Apple among them, are offered only as ordinary share CFDs.

Before trading a single-stock perpetual

  1. Confirm with Pepperstone that your Australian account may trade perpetuals.
  2. Ask for the margin on the symbol; the Australian pages do not publish it.
  3. Check which reference price the contract follows when its home market is closed.
  4. Plan for gaps around earnings and weekend news: there is no guaranteed stop-loss.
