Which brokers let me trade the Hang Seng on weekends?
Verdict
- Short answer: none of the three brokers we rank for Hong Kong (Pepperstone, Capital.com, XS) publishes a weekend Hang Seng market in our verified data.
- Pepperstone, our overall pick, does offer 24/7 weekend trading through perpetual CFDs, but its Bahamas retail margin table lists them on NAS100, US500, gold, WTI and Brent, not on HK50.
- For the Hang Seng itself, Pepperstone's HK50 CFD (5-point average spread, no commission) is the product to use on weekdays.
- Pepperstone serves Hong Kong from the Bahamas (SCB, SIA-F217) and holds no SFC licence.
Weekend index prices let you react to news before Monday's open, but they are a niche product, and we could not verify one on the Hang Seng at any broker we rank. Pepperstone is still where we would hold a Hong Kong index account, and its 24/7 products cover US indices. Here is exactly what exists.
What Pepperstone offers at the weekend
Pepperstone's perpetual CFDs, launched in 2026, trade 24/7 with no expiry; instead of overnight swaps they carry a funding rate that Pepperstone sets a week in advance and applies daily at 5 pm New York time. The retail margin table for Pepperstone Markets Limited, the Bahamas company that serves Hong Kong, lists five: GOLD-PERP, NAS100-PERP, US500-PERP, WTOIL-PERP and BRENTOIL-PERP. So from Hong Kong you could hold a Nasdaq or S&P 500 view through a Saturday, but not a Hang Seng one. During the week, HK50 is quoted at a 5-point average spread with no commission. Pepperstone holds no SFC licence.

If you need Hang Seng exposure over a weekend
The practical choice is between holding a weekday HK50 position through the weekend or staying flat. Holding means you carry the Monday gap: the index can open far from Friday's close, and a normal stop-loss fills at the first available price, not your level. Pepperstone does not publish a guaranteed stop. Capital.com, our second choice, does offer guaranteed stops, which cap that gap risk; its Hang Seng terms are not in our data, so check them in its platform.
Points to check on any weekend index product
- How the weekend price is formed; with no live cash market, it reflects the broker's own model and demand.
- Spread and funding at the weekend versus weekdays.
- Whether the product is open to retail clients of your entity, not just to the group.
- How the weekend price converges to the Monday open.

Can I trade HK50 on Saturday with Pepperstone?
Not in our verified data. Pepperstone's 24/7 perps for its Bahamas retail clients cover NAS100, US500, gold, WTI and Brent, not HK50.
How is a perpetual CFD charged?
By a funding rate that Pepperstone sets weekly in advance and applies daily at 5 pm New York time, rather than a normal overnight swap.
Does IG offer weekend Hang Seng trading in Hong Kong?
We have not verified IG's weekend products. IG's Hong Kong address redirects to its Chinese site, and no SFC licence is shown there.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. This page is not investment advice; broker terms change, so check them on the broker's own site before you open an account.
