Which trading platform has the fastest execution for scalping?
Verdict
- No platform is faster on its own: the broker's pricing and servers decide your fill. Pepperstone, our top pick for UK scalpers, says it fills orders from 50 milliseconds with a 99.32% fill rate and no dealer intervention, whichever platform you use.
- For scalping costs, cTrader is the cheapest way to use Pepperstone's Razor pricing: $3.00 commission per side on FX, against $3.50 on MT5 and TradingView.
- No broker in our data publishes execution speeds per platform, so treat any 'fastest platform' claim with care.
- Pepperstone allows expert advisors and offers a free VPS to eligible and Pro clients, but it does not publish a formal scalping policy in our data.
Scalpers ask about platforms, but an order travels from the platform to the broker's servers, and that leg decides the fill. The useful question is which broker-and-platform pair gives fast fills at the lowest cost per round trip. Here is how Pepperstone's five platforms compare for scalping, and what each costs per lot.
Our pick: Pepperstone Razor, ideally on cTrader
Pepperstone publishes an execution claim of fills from 50 milliseconds, a 99.32% fill rate and no dealer intervention, based on trades from 1 January to 31 March 2026, and it applies across its platforms. For scalping, cost per trade matters as much as speed, and that is where cTrader wins: Razor spreads (a published EUR/USD average of 0.1 pips) plus $3.00 commission per side, the lowest of Pepperstone's platforms. These are Pepperstone's own figures, not results of our testing.

Cost per scalp on one lot of EUR/USD
Using Pepperstone's published averages and $10 per pip on a standard lot. At 20 round trips a day, every dollar per trade becomes twenty.
- Razor on cTrader: 0.1 pips ($1) + $6 = $7 per round trip, $140 a day.
- Razor on MT5 or TradingView: $1 + $7 = $8 per round trip, $160 a day.
- Standard account: 1.1 pips = $11 per round trip, $220 a day.
- In a GBP account, Razor commission is quoted from £2.25 per side.
What we could not verify
Some gaps are worth knowing before you commit. Pepperstone states that expert advisors are allowed, but its pages in our data do not spell out a scalping policy, such as a minimum holding time. No broker we track publishes latency by platform. And because Pepperstone offers no guaranteed stops, a fast market can fill your stop at a worse price: its UK terms say it cannot guarantee that stop-loss orders will be executed at the specific level.
How Capital.com compares for fast trading
Capital.com, our second choice in the UK, runs on its own web platform and app, MT4, MT5 and TradingView, but not cTrader, and our data holds no published EUR/USD average or execution statistic for it. Where it beats Pepperstone is guaranteed stop-losses, which cap slippage on the exit for a fee. Scalpers chasing the lowest per-lot cost will find Pepperstone's published numbers easier to compare.

Claims as each broker publishes them.
Is MT4 or MT5 faster for scalping?
Pepperstone publishes one execution statistic for all its platforms, not one per platform. On cost they tie: MT5's $3.50 per side and MT4's $7 charged on opening both come to $7 per round-trip lot.
Does Pepperstone offer a VPS for scalpers?
Pepperstone lists a free VPS for eligible and Pro clients. The qualifying conditions are not on the pages we checked, so ask Pepperstone before you plan around it.
Is spread betting cheaper than Razor for short trades?
It depends on size and pair. A Pepperstone spread bet has no commission, but its EUR/USD minimum spread is 0.5 points against Razor's 0.0 plus commission. Compare both for your usual stake before you choose.
Leveraged products such as CFDs and spread bets carry a high risk of losing money rapidly. Pepperstone reports that 73.6% of its UK retail investor accounts lose money on these products. Fast trading multiplies costs as well as outcomes. This is not investment advice; check current terms with the broker.
