How can I trade US stocks outside market hours?
Verdict
- From Singapore, the simplest route is Pepperstone, our pick: it says more than 100 US share CFDs trade 24 hours a day, five days a week, under a '-24' suffix such as AAPL.US-24.
- For weekend exposure to US stocks as a group, the Bahamas entity's retail margin table lists NAS100 and US500 perpetual CFDs, which trade 24/7.
- US share CFDs cost $0.02 per share per side in commission, and retail leverage on shares is up to 1:20 at the Bahamas entity.
- Pepperstone holds no MAS licence; Singapore accounts sit with Pepperstone Markets Limited (SCB, SIA-F217).
For a Singapore trader, the regular US session runs through the night, so trading outside it is as much about convenience as about reacting to earnings. A CFD broker can quote selected US stocks around the clock on weekdays, and US indices even at weekends. Here is how Pepperstone does it.
Pepperstone's 24-hour US share CFDs
Pepperstone is our pick because it offers both routes. Its 24-hour US share CFDs, more than 100 of them, carry a '-24' suffix such as AAPL.US-24, and trade 24/5 according to Pepperstone; check that the -24 symbols appear on the Bahamas platform you are given. Its wider range covers 600+ US shares listed on NYSE and NASDAQ. Commission is $0.02 per share per side, and the Bahamas entity that serves Singapore allows retail leverage up to 1:20 on shares. You can open from $10 and hold the account in SGD or USD.

Ways to hold US stock exposure at Pepperstone
| Route | When it trades | Exposure | Cost basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24-hour share CFD (e.g. AAPL.US-24) | 24/5 | One US stock | $0.02 per share per side, plus spread |
| Regular US share CFD | The US session | One US stock | $0.02 per share per side, plus spread |
| NAS100-PERP or US500-PERP | 24/7 | A US index | Perpetual commission plus a funding rate set weekly; check your account's rates |
Worked example: 50 shares in your Singapore day
Buy 50 shares through a -24 symbol in your Singapore morning, after the US session has closed, and sell them that evening before it reopens. Commission is 50 × $0.02 = $1 each way, $2 for the round trip, plus the spread on the -24 symbol. Fewer orders meet outside the main session, so the spread can be wider than during it; read it live before trading. Hold past the daily rollover and overnight financing applies as well.
Limits to know
- Only selected stocks have a -24 version: Pepperstone says 100+, against 600+ US shares overall.
- Single-stock perpetuals (NVDA, TSLA and others) exist in Pepperstone's group-wide range, but the Bahamas retail margin table lists only the gold, oil and index perpetuals, so do not count on them.
- A CFD gives you no share ownership and no vote.
- Pepperstone has no MAS licence, and no compensation scheme is named for its Bahamas entity.
Alternatives for Singapore residents
XS accepts Singapore residents and offers shares (its swap-free terms apply swaps on shares from the first day), but our data shows no extended-hours product there. Tiger Brokers' Singapore company, licensed by MAS, sells real US stocks rather than CFDs; we have not verified its extended-hours terms. Capital.com does not accept Singapore residents.

Not single stocks through -24 symbols, which run 24/5. The NAS100 and US500 perpetual CFDs trade 24/7.
Is commission higher outside regular hours?
Pepperstone's published US share commission is $0.02 per share per side, and we found no separate rate for -24 symbols, but the spread can differ, so check it live.
Share CFDs are leveraged and complex, and prices outside the main session can move sharply on thin trading. Pepperstone's international site states that 80% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. Not investment advice.
