Which brokers offer professional accounts with higher leverage in the UAE?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Pepperstone is our pick: its Pro account for UAE clients lifts leverage from the retail 1:200 to 1:500 on major and minor FX pairs, gold and major indices.
  • Pepperstone's UAE Pro page copies its Australian qualification test (a sophisticated-investor quiz or an accountant-certified wealth test); it publishes no UAE-specific criteria.
  • Turning professional changes your protection: Pepperstone retail clients get negative balance protection, while Pros may get a one-time cover of up to $100,000.
  • Capital.com's Dubai company already lists retail leverage of 300:1 on FX and 500:1 on 15 majors, gold and crude; XS advertises up to 1:2000 dynamic leverage without naming the entity.

If you trade from the UAE and qualify as a professional client, Pepperstone Pro is where we would start: the leverage jump is published instrument by instrument, and the trade-offs are spelled out. Before applying, compare what you gain in margin with what you give up in protection, and check whether another broker's retail terms already give you enough.

Pepperstone Pro: 1:500 on FX, gold and major indices

On Pepperstone's UAE costs page, a retail client can use up to 1:200 on major and minor currency pairs, major indices and gold. A Pro client can use up to 1:500 on the same instruments, and Pepperstone's dynamic crypto leverage scheme reaches 1:500 on BTC/USD and ETH/USD, against 1:20 for retail. Some limits do not move at all: energies stay at 1:20 and shares and ETFs at 1:20. Clients sign agreements with Pepperstone Markets Limited (Bahamas, SCB SIA-F217) and its Dubai LLC, and the group's DIFC company is regulated by the DFSA (F004356). Pepperstone's December 2025 press release says its onshore UAE licence covers introduction and advisory services for professional clients and partners.

How Pepperstone decides who is a professional

The UAE Pro page reuses the test Pepperstone applies in Australia. You qualify either as a sophisticated investor, which involves a knowledge quiz and evidence such as at least a year in a professional FX or CFD role, or as a wholesale client under section 761G(7) of Australia's Corporations Act, backed by a qualified accountant's certificate. No UAE-specific criteria are published, so expect to supply documents and ask Pepperstone which route applies to you.

What you give up as a professional client

  • Negative balance protection: Pepperstone's UAE risk disclosure says retail clients are entitled to it; Pros may receive a one-time cover of up to $100,000, and beyond that the protection does not apply.
  • Margin buffer: at 1:500, a 0.2% move against a fully margined position consumes the whole margin, compared with 0.5% at 1:200.
  • Retail-oriented safeguards generally: read the Pro terms in full before you accept them.

Capital.com and XS: high leverage without the Pro label

Capital.com's UAE company, licensed by the Capital Market Authority (20200000176), lists retail leverage of 300:1 on forex and indices, 500:1 on 15 listed major pairs, 500:1 on gold and crude, 20:1 on shares and 100:1 on crypto. A retail client there may not need professional status at all. XS advertises up to 1:2000 with dynamic leverage on its global site, with a 40% margin call and a 20% stop-out, but the page does not name the entity or regulator behind that figure; ask which company would hold your account before relying on it.

What leverage does a UAE retail client get at Pepperstone?

Up to 1:200 on major FX, major indices and gold, 1:20 on energies, shares and BTC/USD or ETH/USD, according to Pepperstone's UAE costs page.

Does Pepperstone publish UAE-specific professional criteria?

No. Its UAE Pro page copies the Australian sophisticated-investor and wholesale-client tests.

Is higher leverage worth it?

Only if you need the margin relief. Leverage does not lower trading costs; it lets a smaller deposit carry a larger position, which magnifies losses as much as gains.

CFDs are complex and leveraged, and the higher the leverage, the faster losses can mount; professional clients also lose some retail protections. Leverage limits are taken from broker sites and change. Not investment advice.
