What trading platforms does Pepperstone offer in the UK?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Pepperstone offers UK clients five platforms: its own web platform and app, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView.
  • Spread betting accounts can use all five; on CFDs, MT4 and TradingView are for Razor accounts only, so a Standard CFD account gets the Pepperstone platform, MT5 and cTrader.
  • Razor commission depends on the platform: $3.00 per side on cTrader FX versus $3.50 per side on MT5 and TradingView in a USD account, or £2.25 per side in a GBP account.
  • Copy trading and perpetual CFDs are not part of the UK retail offer, according to Pepperstone's own UK pages.

Pepperstone's UK platform line-up is one of the main reasons we rank it first for British traders. The catch is that not every platform is open to every account, and the commission changes with the platform you choose.

Which platform comes with which UK account

Pepperstone Limited runs three UK account types, and you can hold more than one at a time. Here is what each one can connect to, according to Pepperstone's UK accounts page:

How the platform changes your Razor commission

On Razor, Pepperstone charges a commission on top of raw spreads, and the rate is set per platform. Per standard lot of FX in a USD account:

  • cTrader: $3.00 per side, $6 round trip (XAU/USD is $3.50 per side).
  • MT5, TradingView and the Pepperstone platform: $3.50 per side, $7 round trip.
  • MT4: $7 per lot, charged when the position opens.
  • GBP accounts: from £2.25 per lot per side, as listed on the UK costs page.

Tools and automation on top of the platforms

MT4 and MT5 users get Pepperstone's Smart Trader Tools add-ons, including Trade Terminal, Correlation Matrix and Mini Terminal (the firm's own pages give two different counts for the suite, 28 and 60+). cTrader comes with cTrader Automate for C# trading bots, MetaTrader accepts expert advisors, and Pepperstone lists API trading and a free VPS for eligible and Professional clients. Spread bettors keep that flexibility, because their account works on every platform in the table.

What UK clients do not get

  • Copy trading: the CopyTrading by Pepperstone app is published on the international site; the UK copy-trading page returns an error.
  • Perpetual CFDs: Professional clients only in the UK.
  • Crypto CFDs: not available to UK retail clients, in line with the FCA's 2021 ban on crypto derivatives for retail consumers.

Choosing between them

If you chart on TradingView already, open Razor and trade from the chart you know. If cost per lot is your main concern, cTrader on Razor is Pepperstone's cheapest FX commission. If you run expert advisors, MT4 or MT5 keeps them working. If you only want to place a few spread bets a week, the Pepperstone app is enough, and you can add a platform later without opening a new account.

Can I use TradingView with a Pepperstone Standard account in the UK?

Not on a CFD Standard account. TradingView is available on Razor and on the spread betting account.

Does Pepperstone UK offer MetaTrader 4?

Yes, on Razor CFD accounts and on spread betting accounts. Standard CFD accounts get MT5 instead.

Which Pepperstone platform has the lowest commission?

cTrader, at $3.00 per side on FX in a USD account, against $3.50 per side on MT5 and TradingView.

Can I spread bet on MT4 or MT5 with Pepperstone?

Yes. Pepperstone lists MT4, MT5, TradingView, cTrader and its own platform for UK spread betting accounts.

CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments with a high risk of losing money rapidly because of leverage. A better platform does not reduce that risk. This is not investment advice; confirm platform terms with Pepperstone before you trade.
