Pepperstone does offer spread betting in the UK, as a separate account type alongside its Standard and Razor CFD accounts, and you can hold all three. Here is what the account includes, what it costs, and what it leaves out.
Yes, through Pepperstone Limited
Spread betting is available to UK residents from Pepperstone Limited, the FCA-authorised company (684312) based at 27 Old Jewry in London. You open a spread-betting account and choose a stake in GBP per point. Your profit or loss is that stake multiplied by the number of points the market moves. The spread is the only trading charge, and eligible clients have the same FSCS cover (up to £85,000) and retail negative balance protection as on CFD accounts.

What a spread bet costs at Pepperstone
The cost is the spread multiplied by your stake. At £10 a point, Pepperstone's published minimums work out at £5 on EUR/USD (0.5), £8 on GBP/USD (0.8), £1 on spot gold (0.1), £10 on the UK100 (1) and £4 on the US500 (0.4). These are the lowest the spreads go, and live spreads are often wider. Compared with Pepperstone's own CFD accounts, the spread bet matches Razor's minimum on the main indices without Razor's commission. On EUR/USD it sits between Razor's 0.0 plus commission and Standard's 1 pip.
What Pepperstone's spread betting doesn't include
- Guaranteed stops: not offered. Pepperstone's UK terms say stops can't be guaranteed. Capital.com, IG and CMC Markets sell them.
- Crypto: not available to retail clients, because of the FCA's 2021 ban on crypto derivatives.
- Perpetual CFDs: available to Professional clients only on the UK site.
- Non-UK residents: Pepperstone offers spread betting to UK residents. Elsewhere, its local companies offer CFDs.
