Can I deposit and withdraw in AED with Pepperstone?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Yes. Pepperstone, our top pick in the UAE, lets you hold a Standard or Razor account in AED and move dirhams in and out through local transfers with Mashreq Bank and Barclays.
  • Local bank deposits and withdrawals each take up to 2 business days; card withdrawals take up to 1 business day, and Apple Pay or Google Pay withdrawals are listed as immediate.
  • Withdrawals go back to the source you paid from, so fund from an account in your own name.
  • Capital.com also offers AED accounts and LEAN open-banking deposits in AED; XS has no AED account (USD, EUR and JPY only).

For a UAE resident, trading in dirhams avoids a currency conversion on every deposit and withdrawal. Pepperstone supports it end to end. Here are the routes, how long each takes, and the rules that decide where your money can go.

AED accounts and local banks at Pepperstone

Pepperstone's UAE funding page lists AED as a base currency for both Standard and Razor, alongside GBP, USD, EUR and AUD. Two local banks, Mashreq Bank and Barclays, handle dirham transfers. With a $10 minimum deposit you can run a small AED deposit and withdrawal before funding fully, which we suggest with any broker.

Why the account currency matters

If your salary and bank account are in dirhams but your trading account is in dollars, each deposit and withdrawal is converted, and the rate your bank or card applies is a cost that appears on no broker fee table. An AED account keeps the balance in the currency you spend. The trade-off: your profit and loss on dollar-priced instruments such as EUR/USD or gold is converted into AED, and Razor commission is charged at the rate set for your account currency.

Rules on where withdrawals can go

  • Withdrawals return to the source of the deposit, so a card deposit comes back to that card.
  • Pepperstone does not accept third-party payments on its UK site; use an account in your own name.
  • Pepperstone says final settlement depends on third-party banks and can vary from the listed times.
  • Crypto funding is only available to clients under Pepperstone Financial Services LLC, the Dubai company.

Dirham options at Capital.com and XS

Capital.com offers AED base-currency accounts and lists LEAN, the UAE open-banking rail, for deposits in AED and USD; it says it typically handles withdrawals within 24 hours, with up to 5 business days for funds to arrive. XS publishes USD, EUR and JPY base currencies and funding by bank transfer, cards, Skrill and Neteller, so dirhams are converted.

Funding pages from each broker.

Can I convert an existing USD account to AED?

Our sources don't describe changing the base currency of an existing UAE account; ask Pepperstone whether you can open an additional AED account instead.

Does Pepperstone accept mada or KNET?

No. Neither appears on Pepperstone's funding pages; the UAE local options are Mashreq Bank and Barclays transfers.

Can I withdraw to a different bank than I deposited from?

Pepperstone returns funds to the original source. Speak to support before depositing if you expect to need a different route.
