Which CFD brokers in Hong Kong have the lowest fees?
Verdict
- Pepperstone has the lowest published CFD fees among the brokers we cover for Hong Kong: Razor EUR/USD averages 0.1 pips plus $3.00 to $3.50 per side, and HK50 averages 5 points with no commission.
- It also charges no inactivity or account fee, and deposits are free; the catch is regulation, as Pepperstone serves Hong Kong from the Bahamas (SCB, SIA-F217) with no SFC licence.
- XS Elite matches Pepperstone's cTrader price on EUR/USD at 0.1 pips plus $6 round turn, but needs $500 and runs only on MetaTrader and its own app.
- Capital.com publishes no static EUR/USD spread in our data, so we cannot rank it on cost.
Low fees on CFDs means four things: the spread, any commission, overnight financing, and charges outside trading such as withdrawals and inactivity. On the figures brokers publish, Pepperstone is cheapest for a Hong Kong trader. Here is the arithmetic, plus the costs that headline spreads leave out.
Pepperstone's fees, worked out
These are Pepperstone's published averages on its Razor and Standard accounts. One standard lot of EUR/USD is worth $10 a pip.
- EUR/USD, Razor on cTrader: 0.1 pips ($1) + $6 commission = $7 round trip.
- EUR/USD, Razor on MT5 or TradingView: $1 + $7 = $8.
- EUR/USD, Standard: 1.1 pips = $11, no commission.
- HK50 index CFD: 5-point average spread on both accounts, no commission. At a position size of HK$10 a point that is HK$50 per round trip.
- Hong Kong share CFDs: 0.2% commission per side, so a HK$100,000 position costs HK$400 in commission to open and close, plus the spread.
- Account costs: no inactivity or account-keeping fee; deposits free.

Which CFD broker has the lowest spreads?
On EUR/USD, Pepperstone Razor and XS Elite publish the same 0.1-pip average. The difference is the commission and the entry point: Pepperstone charges $6 round turn on cTrader or $7 elsewhere from a $10 minimum, while XS charges $6 round turn and asks $500. Raw spreads alone mislead, so compare the all-in cost per lot.
| Account | Average spread | Commission round turn | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pepperstone Razor, cTrader | 0.1 pips | $6 | $7 |
| Pepperstone Razor, MT5/TradingView | 0.1 pips | $7 | $8 |
| XS Elite | 0.1 pips | $6 | $7 |
| Pepperstone Standard | 1.1 pips | $0 | $11 |

Fees that the spread table hides
- Overnight financing applies to positions held past the daily rollover; Pepperstone does not publish one fixed rate, so check the swap shown in the platform for each symbol.
- International bank-wire withdrawals carry a $20 fee on Pepperstone's international costs page; card and e-wallet withdrawals are free.
- Currency conversion: holding your account in HKD avoids converting each deposit, but trades in USD instruments still convert profit and loss.
- XS says it may charge up to 3% on a withdrawal when an account has had no trading activity.
Before you choose on price alone
Pepperstone's low costs come with offshore supervision: there is no SFC licence, and no compensation scheme is named for the Bahamas entity, although retail clients are protected against negative balances. None of our three cheapest options is SFC-licensed.
