What's the best online trading platform in Hong Kong?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • For CFD and forex trading from Hong Kong, our pick is a Pepperstone Razor account, because one account reaches MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and Pepperstone's own web platform and app.
  • Pepperstone has no SFC licence; Hong Kong residents contract with Pepperstone Markets Limited, regulated by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (SIA-F217).
  • Capital.com offers its own web platform and app plus MT4, MT5 and TradingView; XS offers MT4, MT5 and the XS app.
  • Pick the platform by how you trade: TradingView for charting, cTrader for the lowest Razor commission, MetaTrader for expert advisors.

A trading platform is software; the broker behind it decides your costs and who holds your money. The best setup we found for a Hong Kong CFD trader is Pepperstone's Razor account, which puts five platforms on one account. Below, which platform suits which trader, and what to know about Pepperstone's offshore licence.

One account, five platforms

Pepperstone's Razor account is the only account type in our top three that connects to MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and the broker's own platform. The Standard account drops TradingView. That matters because traders change tools: you may start on the mobile app, move to TradingView charts and later automate on cTrader, all without opening a new account or moving money. Pricing follows the account, not the screen: Razor averages 0.1 pips on EUR/USD with $3.50 commission per side on MT4, MT5 and TradingView, and $3.00 per side on cTrader. Before you sign, note that Pepperstone serves Hong Kong from the Bahamas and is not on the SFC register.

How the alternatives compare on software

Capital.com, our second choice, accepts Hong Kong residents and runs its own web platform and mobile app alongside MT4, MT5 and a TradingView integration, so it covers most traders except cTrader users. It also publishes a guaranteed stop-loss, which Pepperstone does not. XS, third, is a MetaTrader shop: MT4, MT5 and its own XS Trading App. Its Elite account is published at 0.1 pips average on EUR/USD with a $6 round-turn commission and a $500 minimum. Neither Capital.com nor XS lists an SFC licence in our data.

Checks before you install anything

  1. Find the company named on the client agreement and look it up with its regulator; for Pepperstone that is the SCB register, not the SFC.
  2. Choose HKD or USD as your base currency; Pepperstone offers both.
  3. Test a small deposit and withdrawal first. Pepperstone lists cards and e-wallets for deposits from $10 and publishes no Hong Kong FPS option.
  4. Confirm that the platform you want is attached to your account type; TradingView needs Razor.

Can I use TradingView with Pepperstone in Hong Kong?

Yes, on the Razor account. Pepperstone's international site lists TradingView for Razor but not for Standard.

Is a broker's own app enough for a beginner?

It can be. Pepperstone's web platform and app are on both account types, and you can add MetaTrader or TradingView later on the same Razor account.

Does the platform change my trading costs?

Only the commission. On Pepperstone Razor, cTrader charges $3.00 per side on FX, against $3.50 on MT5, TradingView and the Pepperstone platform.

CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. This page is not investment advice; broker terms change, so check them on the broker's own site before you open an account.
