Which forex brokers allow expert advisors?
Verdict
- Pepperstone allows expert advisors (EAs): it supports algorithmic trading on MT4 and MT5, on both Razor and Standard accounts for Singapore residents.
- It adds Smart Trader Tools for MetaTrader and a free VPS for eligible and Pro clients, so an EA can run without your computer switched on.
- XS offers MT4 and MT5 but does not publish whether EAs are permitted; Capital.com allows them but does not accept Singapore residents.
- Pepperstone serves Singapore residents from the Bahamas (Pepperstone Markets Limited, SCB SIA-F217); it holds no MAS licence.
Almost every MetaTrader broker technically runs expert advisors, but not all say so, and costs and server set-up decide whether an EA survives live trading. Pepperstone states its EA support openly and publishes the commission per platform.

Smart Trader Tools and what to check
Pepperstone's MetaTrader add-ons include Trade Terminal, Correlation Matrix, Trade Simulator, Mini Terminal, Smart Lines and Connect. Its pages count them differently, as 28 apps and indicators on one page and 60+ on another, so treat the number loosely. Before going live, check that your EA's lot sizing matches Pepperstone's contract sizes and that it respects the retail leverage cap of 1:200 on forex.

- OANDA (MAS-licensed): offers MT5 alongside its own platform.
- CMC Markets Singapore (MAS-licensed): offers MT4 next to its Next Generation platform.

Does Pepperstone restrict scalping EAs?
Pepperstone does not publish a scalping policy in our data, though it allows EAs. Ask support if your strategy opens and closes trades within seconds.
Is the VPS free for everyone?
No. Pepperstone offers the free VPS to eligible and Pro clients; ask what qualifies you.
Can I run an EA on the Pepperstone app?
Expert advisors are MetaTrader programs, so they run in MT4 or MT5 rather than Pepperstone's own app; on cTrader, the equivalent is a cBot.
Expert advisors can lose money as quickly as a human trader, especially with leverage. CFDs are complex and high-risk. Test thoroughly; this is not investment advice.
