Which brokers offer European and Hong Kong share CFDs?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Pepperstone offers both: its share range covers US, UK, European, Australian and Hong Kong shares, including 46 HKEX-listed stocks and a German and European range, at 0.10% per side on German shares and 0.15% on Hong Kong shares for UK clients.
  • Pepperstone's account tables count 1,162 share CFDs in total; its markets page says 1,100+.
  • The Hong Kong rate is 0.15% on Pepperstone's UK costs page but 0.20% on its Australian and international pages, so confirm the rate on your own account.
  • Retail leverage on share CFDs is 1:5, and share spread bets are commission-free.

Few CFD providers publish a clear list of which non-US share markets they cover. Pepperstone names its regions and its rates, which makes it our pick for UK traders who want European and Hong Kong stocks in one account. Here's the range, what each market costs, and the practical points of trading Hong Kong from the UK.

Pepperstone's European and Hong Kong share range

Pepperstone Limited (FCA 684312) offers share CFDs and share spread bets across the US, UK, Europe, Australia and Hong Kong. Its shares page lists 46 HKEX stocks and a German and European range alongside 600+ US and 100+ LSE shares. You can trade them all from one account on MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView or Pepperstone's own platform, with a £10 card minimum and no inactivity fee. Share CFDs carry commission on both Razor and Standard; spread bets don't.

Worked costs: a German share and a Hong Kong share

  • €8,000 in a German share at 0.10%: €8 to open and €8 to close, €16 in total.
  • HK$60,000 in a Hong Kong share at 0.15%: HK$90 each way, HK$180 in total.
  • If your account is charged the 0.20% shown on Pepperstone's other pages, the same Hong Kong trade costs HK$120 each way, HK$240 in total.
  • Add the spread on each share and any overnight fee after 10 pm UK time.

Trading Hong Kong and Europe from the UK

European markets overlap with the UK working day, so you can trade them in normal hours. Hong Kong trades in the UK night and early morning, which matters for when you can react and how you set stops; Pepperstone's stops can't be guaranteed if a share gaps. Results accrue in euros or Hong Kong dollars and are converted to your base currency (GBP, USD, EUR or CHF at Pepperstone UK). A spread bet avoids that by staking in pounds per point, and Pepperstone says UK spread betting profits are exempt from CGT, depending on your circumstances.

Leverage and other firms

UK retail leverage on share CFDs is 1:5 at Pepperstone and at Capital.com, so €10,000 of exposure needs €2,000 of margin. We found no published European or Hong Kong share list for Capital.com, IG or CMC Markets in our fact pack, so check their market search for the specific stocks you want before comparing costs.
