Which broker offers the most share CFDs?
Verdict
- Pepperstone is the broker we can confirm with the largest share CFD list for UK traders: 1,162 share CFDs on its account tables (data sourced 12 March 2025), offered under FCA regulation.
- They span more than 600 US stocks, 100+ London-listed shares, 200 ASX and 46 Hong Kong shares, plus a German and European range.
- Commission depends on the exchange: 0.10% per side on UK and German shares, 0.07% on Australian, 0.15% on Hong Kong and $0.02 per share on US stocks.
- Our verified data holds no share-CFD counts for other brokers, so treat 'most' as the largest list we could check, not a full market survey.
Counting share CFDs is harder than it looks: brokers publish different totals on different pages, and a count means little if the market you want isn't in it. Pepperstone gives a breakdown by exchange, and on that basis it is the broker we recommend. Here is what its 1,162 covers and what each region costs to trade.
Pepperstone's 1,162 share CFDs
Pepperstone's UK account comparison table counts 1,162 share CFDs for Standard and Razor, and the same 1,162 for spread betting. Its markets page rounds this to '1100+ shares'. The account is held with Pepperstone Limited, authorised and regulated by the FCA (684312), and you can run a CFD and a spread-betting account side by side, so the whole list is available in either wrapper.

Where the 1,162 shares come from
- United States: more than 600 shares from the NYSE and Nasdaq, with 24/5 trading on selected names.
- United Kingdom: more than 100 shares listed on the London Stock Exchange.
- Australia: 200 ASX-listed shares.
- Hong Kong: 46 HKEX-listed shares.
- Germany and wider Europe: a range of German and European shares, without a published count.
Commission by exchange
Share CFDs are the one market where Pepperstone's Standard account charges commission as well as Razor. Rates from its UK costs page, per side:
| Exchange | Commission | Round trip on 10,000 units of local currency |
|---|---|---|
| UK | 0.10% (min £0.01) | £20 |
| Germany | 0.10% | €20 |
| Australia | 0.07% | A$14 |
| Hong Kong | 0.15% on the UK page (0.20% on other Pepperstone pages) | HK$30 |
| United States | $0.02 per share | $4 on 100 shares at $100 |
Why 'most' needs a caveat
Pepperstone's own figures do not all agree: the account table says 1,162 shares, the markets page '1100+', and the headline market totals range from 1,350+ to more than 2,700 spread bets and CFDs. Other brokers count differently again, and our verified fact pack contains no share-CFD totals for Capital.com, IG, CMC Markets or the rest. So we can say Pepperstone's breakdown is the most detailed we could confirm, not that it beats every rival. If one exchange matters to you, search for the specific stocks in each broker's platform before you fund.
Capital.com as a second account
Capital Com (UK) Limited (FCA 793714) offers share CFDs and spread bets, with guaranteed stops and a 5:1 retail leverage cap on shares, the same as Pepperstone. Its minimum deposit is 20 GBP. Without a published share count in our data, we suggest it as a complement when a specific stock is missing from Pepperstone's list, rather than as the first choice for breadth.
