Can I trade crypto CFDs in the UAE, and which brokers offer them?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Yes, UAE residents can trade crypto CFDs, and Pepperstone is our pick: its retail margin table lists 44 coins against the US dollar, with no commission on crypto CFDs.
  • Leverage on Pepperstone's UAE site is 1:20 on BTC/USD and ETH/USD but only 1:2 on every other coin, so altcoin trades need half their value as margin.
  • Capital.com's Dubai company lists crypto leverage of 100:1, far higher than Pepperstone's. XS offers crypto pairs and makes accounts of UAE residents swap-free automatically, although crypto swaps start after three days.
  • A crypto CFD gives you no coins and no wallet; it is a leveraged contract on the price.

Crypto CFDs are available to UAE residents through several international brokers, and the main differences are the coin list, the leverage cap and what you pay to hold a position. Pepperstone strikes the most careful balance in our view: a wide list, no commission and modest leverage. Here is the comparison and what to check.

Why Pepperstone is our crypto CFD pick in the UAE

UAE clients' CFDs are issued by Pepperstone Markets Limited, whose retail margin table (effective 19 September 2026) lists 44 crypto CFDs against the dollar, from BTC, ETH, SOL and XRP to SUI, TON and RENDER, plus BTC and ETH against the euro, pound and Australian dollar. Crypto CFDs carry no commission; published average spreads are 15.15 on BTCUSD and 2.01 on ETHUSD on Razor. Pepperstone also lets clients of its Dubai LLC fund in crypto, with no minimum and a 24/7 cashier. Retail clients are entitled to negative balance protection, which matters in a market that can gap hard.

What is the best broker for crypto CFDs?

For a UAE resident, our order is Pepperstone, then Capital.com, then XS. The table shows what each publishes.

The 1:2 rule on altcoins

Pepperstone's UAE leverage table separates Bitcoin and Ether from everything else. A $4,000 position in BTC/USD needs $200 of margin at 1:20; the same $4,000 in SOL/USD or XRP/USD needs $2,000 at 1:2. That cap protects you from the larger swings of smaller coins, but it also means your account must hold far more cash for altcoin trades. Capital.com's 100:1 sits at the other extreme: it lets a small deposit control a large position, which also lets a small move wipe it out.

Checks before your first crypto CFD trade

  • Read the overnight financing rate for each coin; crypto holding costs can outweigh the spread on longer trades.
  • Check trading hours in the platform for each coin, including weekends.
  • Confirm which company issues your CFDs: Pepperstone Markets Limited (SCB, Bahamas) for Pepperstone's UAE retail clients; Capital.com's Dubai company is licensed by the UAE CMA (20200000176).
  • If you need a swap-free account, Pepperstone doesn't offer one to UAE residents.
