What is the best CFD trading app in the UK?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Pepperstone's app is our pick for CFD trading in the UK. It runs both CFD accounts, covers a range Pepperstone counted at 1,444 CFDs in March 2025, and takes Apple Pay or Google Pay deposits from £10.
  • Share CFDs on Pepperstone cost 0.10% per side on UK shares (minimum £0.01) and $0.02 per share on US shares and ETFs. Selected US shares also trade 24 hours a day, five days a week.
  • If you want a different mobile screen on the same account, Pepperstone also supports MT5 and cTrader, and on Razor MT4 and TradingView too.
  • Capital.com's app is our second choice and includes guaranteed stops. Plus500's app offers them too, but only on its own platform.

A CFD app should let you trade the same markets as on desktop, at the same price, and handle your deposits and withdrawals. Pepperstone's app does all of that on both its CFD accounts. Here is what you can trade from it, what share CFDs cost, and which rival apps are worth a look.

Pepperstone's app for CFD trading

Pepperstone Limited (FCA 684312) runs its own app on both UK CFD accounts. Standard puts the whole cost in the spread, at 1.1 pips average on EUR/USD. Razor uses raw spreads with commission from £2.25 per lot per side in GBP. Funding takes a few taps: Apple Pay, Google Pay and debit cards from £10, free and instant. Withdrawals go back to the same card or wallet, usually the same day or within 1 working day.

What you can trade on a Pepperstone CFD account

Pepperstone's own pages give different totals elsewhere ('1350+ markets' and 'more than 2700 spread bets and CFDs'), so treat the table as a dated snapshot.

Share CFDs from your phone: the costs

Share CFDs are where commission shows up even on the Standard account. Two examples using Pepperstone's UK rates:

  • A £2,000 position in a UK share pays 0.10% per side, so £2 to open and £2 to close: £4 in total.
  • 100 shares of a US stock pay $0.02 per share per side, so $2 each way: $4 in total.
  • Pepperstone offers some US share CFDs 24 hours a day, five days a week, which means you can trade them in UK evening hours.
  • Positions held overnight also pay financing, and on a share CFD held for weeks that can cost more than the commission.

Other CFD apps from FCA-authorised firms

  • Capital.com (FCA 793714): its own app, with MT4, MT5 and TradingView also available. It has guaranteed stops, a £20 minimum and live-only spreads.
  • CMC Markets (FCA 173730): its own mobile app, with the Next Generation web platform and MT4. Its standard account quotes EUR/USD from 0.5 pips.
  • Plus500 (FCA 509909): its own app only. Its guaranteed stop order is paid through a wider spread, and it publishes no fixed EUR/USD figure.
  • IG (FCA 195355): its own platform and app, plus MT4, MT5, ProRealTime, L2 Dealer and TradingView.
