What is the best CFD trading account for a Singapore trader?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • For most Singapore traders, the best CFD account is Pepperstone's Razor account in SGD: a 0.1-pip published average on EUR/USD plus SGD 4.55 commission per side, and access to all five Pepperstone platforms.
  • Choose Pepperstone's Standard account instead if you trade rarely and want no commission line; it averages 1.1 pips on EUR/USD.
  • Both accounts start from USD 10 or the local equivalent and are provided by Pepperstone Markets Limited (SCB Bahamas, SIA-F217), not a MAS-licensed company.
  • XS's Elite account is the closest alternative on price, but needs USD 500 and has no SGD option.

The "best" account is a mix of three choices: pricing model, platform and currency. For a Singapore resident, Pepperstone's Razor account held in Singapore dollars gets all three right for the widest range of traders.

Why Razor in SGD is our default

Holding the account in SGD means deposits and withdrawals in your own currency, and the commission is charged in SGD too: SGD 4.55 per side per lot on forex. The spread is the raw market price, with published averages of 0.1 pips on EUR/USD, 0.2 on GBP/USD and 0.3 on USD/JPY. Razor is also the only Pepperstone account with TradingView, on top of MT4, MT5, cTrader and Pepperstone's own web platform and app.

Which trader should pick which

  • Several trades a week or more: Razor. One lot of EUR/USD costs about USD 8 round trip on MT5 against USD 11 on Standard.
  • A few trades a month and you dislike commission lines: Standard, where all the cost is in the spread.
  • Running cBots: Razor on cTrader, where commission drops to USD 3.00 per side.
  • Trading with leverage above 1:200: only possible via Pepperstone Pro, which removes standard negative-balance protection.

The alternatives, honestly

XS accepts Singapore residents; its Elite account is quoted from 0.1 pips on EUR/USD with a USD 6 round-turn commission, but needs USD 500 and offers only USD, EUR and JPY base currencies. Capital.com does not accept Singapore residents. If MAS licensing is a must, look at Singapore-licensed firms such as IG Asia, Saxo, CMC Markets Singapore or Phillip Securities, and compare their account terms on their own sites.

Can I hold both a Razor and a Standard account?

Pepperstone's UK site says clients can hold several account types at once; ask support to confirm the same applies to your international account.

Is the SGD account more expensive than USD?

Not in principle: SGD 4.55 per side is Pepperstone's SGD-denominated equivalent of the USD 3.50 commission. The spread is the same.

Does the Razor account suit beginners?

It can, because it is cheaper per lot. Some beginners still prefer Standard because the cost sits in one visible spread.
