What is the best AI trading bot for forex?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • We don't rank individual bots, because none publishes audited results we could verify. We can rank where to run one, and for forex that is Pepperstone's Razor account: 0.1 pips average on EUR/USD plus US$3.00 per side on cTrader or US$3.50 on MT5.
  • A forex bot that trades often lives or dies on cost: at 20 round-turn lots a day, the US$1 gap between cTrader and MT5 commission is US$20 a day.
  • Singapore residents trade with Pepperstone Markets Limited, licensed in the Bahamas (SIA-F217); Pepperstone has no MAS licence.
  • Judge any bot on a live record at a named broker, its worst drawdown and its result after spread and commission, not on a backtest screenshot.

Bot sellers publish backtests; brokers publish prices. Only one of those can be checked. So this page tells you what a forex bot really pays per trade and how to vet the bot itself.

Where to run a forex bot: Pepperstone Razor

A forex bot needs low, predictable costs and a platform it can run on. Pepperstone's Razor account averages 0.1 pips on EUR/USD, 0.2 on GBP/USD and 0.3 on USD/JPY, with commission set by platform. It runs MetaTrader expert advisors and cTrader cBots, has API access, and Pepperstone offers a free VPS to eligible and Pro clients. Retail FX leverage under the Bahamas entity goes up to 1:200; a bot should use far less.

How to judge a forex bot before you buy

  • Live results at a named broker, over months, not a backtest.
  • Maximum drawdown: the worst fall from a peak. Ask whether you could sit through it.
  • Results after costs. A bot that scalps 2 pips (US$20) a trade gives away 40% of it on a US$8 round turn.
  • Behaviour on news and Monday opens, when spreads can widen and stops slip; Pepperstone offers no guaranteed stops.
  • Who controls the money: it should stay in your own broker account, with the seller never able to withdraw.

Bot types and where they run

  • Expert advisors: MT4 or MT5.
  • cBots: cTrader Automate, written in C#.
  • Custom AI models: API trading.
  • Strategies you follow rather than run: MetaTrader Signals, cTrader Copy or CopyTrading by Pepperstone.

Is there a forex bot that guarantees profits?

No. Treat any guarantee as a warning sign. Pepperstone's international site states that 80% of retail CFD accounts lose money with this provider.

Which Pepperstone platform is cheapest for a forex bot?

cTrader, at US$3.00 commission per side on FX against US$3.50 on MT5 and TradingView.

What leverage will my forex bot get?

Up to 1:200 on major pairs for retail clients of Pepperstone's Bahamas entity. Set the bot's position size so it uses much less.

Forex CFDs are leveraged, and an automated strategy can lose money faster than a manual one. This page is not investment advice; spreads are published averages and can widen.
