What's the best AI trading platform for forex and CFDs?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • No broker in our data publishes a verified 'AI trading platform'; for Hong Kong traders who want to run their own AI-built strategies, Pepperstone is our pick, through API trading, cTrader Automate and MT4/MT5 expert advisors.
  • Be wary of any service that promises AI-generated profits: Pepperstone's international site says 80% of retail CFD accounts lose money with it, and automation does not change the odds by itself.
  • Pepperstone also offers CopyTrading by Pepperstone, cTrader Copy and MetaTrader Signals on its international site, which some people use in place of an AI tool.
  • Pepperstone holds no SFC licence; Hong Kong clients are served from the Bahamas (SCB, SIA-F217).

We could not find a forex or CFD broker that publishes a genuine AI trading platform with verifiable terms, so we will not name one as 'best'. What does exist is the plumbing an AI strategy needs: interfaces that let your model, or code written with an AI assistant, place orders. Pepperstone has the most complete set of those among brokers that accept Hong Kong residents.

Where Pepperstone fits if you want to use AI

Pepperstone lists API trading, cTrader Automate (C# cBots) and EAs on MT4 and MT5, plus a free VPS for eligible and Pro clients. That covers the realistic ways to put an AI-assisted strategy to work: generate and test logic yourself, then let a cBot, an EA or your own program execute it. Costs matter for systems that trade often: cTrader charges $3.00 per side on FX, and Razor accounts are published at a 0.1-pip EUR/USD average. Pepperstone also says it executes from 50 milliseconds with a 99.32% fill rate, based on trades from January to March 2026.

'AI platform' claims and what to ask

Products marketed as AI trading usually fall into one of four groups. Each needs a different check:

Common 'AI trading' offers and the question to ask
TypeWhat it isAsk
Signal or 'bot' subscriptionA third party sends trades or runs an EA on your accountWho is licensed, and can you see a full, audited track record?
Copy tradingYou mirror another trader's positionsWhat fees apply, and can the trader's losses exceed your plan?
Broker automation toolsEAs, cBots, API accessWhat does each platform cost per lot, and what is the execution policy?
Your own modelCode you build, possibly with AI helpHas it been tested out of sample on the broker's own prices?

Copy trading as the low-effort alternative

If what you want is someone else's system running on your account, Pepperstone's international site offers CopyTrading by Pepperstone (it says 9,000+ vetted traders, working with MT4 and MT5), cTrader Copy and MetaTrader Signals. Copying is not AI and it is not a safety net: a copied strategy can lose as fast as your own.

Capital.com and XS

  • Capital.com accepts Hong Kong residents and supports MT4, MT5 and TradingView, and says EAs are allowed. Our data shows no AI product or API for it.
  • XS runs MT4 and MT5 and its own app; its Elite account is published at 0.1 pips on EUR/USD plus $6 round turn. No AI product or EA policy appears in our data.

Does Pepperstone have an AI trading bot?

Not one we could verify as a current product. It offers the tools to run your own automated strategies: API trading, cTrader Automate and MT4/MT5 EAs.

Can ChatGPT-style tools write an EA for me?

They can draft code, but you are responsible for testing it. Backtest on the broker's own data and run it small before trusting it with size.

Are AI trading signals legal in Hong Kong?

We cannot give legal advice. Check whether whoever provides the signals or manages your account is licensed by the SFC on its public register.

Is copy trading the same as AI trading?

No. You copy a human trader's positions. Pepperstone offers it through its own app, cTrader Copy and MetaTrader Signals.

Trading CFDs and leveraged forex is high risk: leverage can make you lose money quickly, and most retail accounts lose. Only trade money you can afford to lose. Nothing here is investment advice, and the broker terms quoted can change, so confirm them on each broker's website first.
