Which UK brokers offer corporate trading accounts?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Pepperstone is where we would start a UK company's application, but with a caveat: none of the material we verified, from Pepperstone or any other UK firm, sets out corporate account terms, so confirm with the firm before you apply.
  • What Pepperstone does publish fits a company well: an FCA-regulated UK entity, GBP, USD, EUR and CHF base currencies, spread betting and CFD accounts side by side, and a professional-client route.
  • Its refusal of third-party payments means a company account should be funded from a bank account in the company's own name, not a director's card.
  • Pepperstone's spread betting tax wording is written for individual circumstances; get advice on how trading profits are taxed in a company.

If you want to trade through a limited company, the honest answer is that UK firms don't publish corporate account terms in the material we could verify. Here is what we can confirm, why Pepperstone is our first call, and the questions to settle before anyone signs on the company's behalf.

Start with Pepperstone, and ask before you apply

Pepperstone Limited is authorised by the FCA (684312) and registered in England and Wales (company no. 08965105). Its UK pages describe spread betting, Standard and Razor accounts, but in the material we checked they do not describe a corporate application route. Call 0800 046 5473 or email support@pepperstone.com and ask whether it opens accounts for UK companies, and on what terms. If it does, the published pricing applies: a Razor EUR/USD average of 0.1 pips plus commission from £2.25 per lot per side in GBP, or Standard at 1.1 pips with no commission.

Questions to settle before a company applies

  • Does the firm accept limited companies, partnerships or trusts, and which company in the group would hold the account?
  • Which documents does it need: incorporation papers, a list of directors and shareholders, identity checks on each?
  • Who may give trading instructions, and can more than one person log in?
  • Can the account be spread betting, CFD or both?
  • Would the company be classed as a retail or professional client, and which protections follow from that?
  • Is the company eligible for FSCS cover, which Pepperstone gives eligible clients up to £85,000?

Funding from the company's own account

Pepperstone does not accept third-party payments, and money returns to the source it came from. For a company, that means paying in from a bank account held in the company's name. A director's personal card is a different payer and would normally be refused. Bank transfers have no minimum and no fee and take from the same day up to 7 working days, which suits larger company balances better than card payments.

Tax is a question for your accountant

Pepperstone says spread betting profits are exempt from capital gains tax in the UK, and that CFD profits are subject to CGT with losses available to offset. It adds that treatment depends on individual circumstances and that tax law can change. Those statements are framed for individuals. A company's trading result is reported differently, so take accounting advice before you choose between spread bets and CFDs for a company account.

Does Pepperstone offer corporate accounts in the UK?

Its UK pages in the material we checked don't publish corporate account terms. Ask Pepperstone directly on 0800 046 5473 or at support@pepperstone.com.

Can a company be classed as a professional client?

Pepperstone's published tests are trading activity, a portfolio above €500,000 and sector experience, two of which must be met. Ask how it applies them to a company.

Can I fund a company account from my personal card?

Expect not. Pepperstone refuses third-party payments, so pay in from a bank account in the company's name.

CFDs and spread bets are complex instruments that carry a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage; 73.6% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading spread bets and CFDs with Pepperstone Limited. Consider whether the company can afford that risk. This page is not investment, legal or tax advice.
