Which offshore brokers are safest for Singapore traders?
Verdict
- On what each broker discloses, Pepperstone is the safest offshore choice for Singapore residents: it names the company that holds your account (Pepperstone Markets Limited, SCB SIA-F217), gives retail clients negative-balance protection in its terms, and belongs to a group regulated by ASIC, the FCA, CySEC, BaFin and the DFSA.
- Its weak points: no MAS licence and no compensation scheme for the Bahamas entity.
- XS, ActivTrades and FP Markets also accept Singapore residents, but none says on the pages we checked which company serves them, and we could not verify their balance protection for that company.
- We rank on published disclosures only; we have not audited any broker.
No offshore broker is as safe as a well-run firm under your own regulator, so 'safest' here means the one that tells you most and promises most in writing. We scored the offshore brokers that accept Singapore residents on five things you can check yourself.
Why Pepperstone comes out on top
Pepperstone's international site, where Singapore visitors land, names the contracting company, its address in Nassau, its company number (177174 B) and its licence. The terms (December 2025) state that retail clients are not liable for negative equity, client money is segregated, and the site publishes a retail-loss figure: 80% of retail investor accounts lose money with this provider. Its costs are published in detail too. That level of disclosure is what lets you judge the risk at all.

Specific cautions on the alternatives
- XS lists a UAE licence held by a financial-consultation company and a Kuwait commercial licence, neither of which is a securities-dealing licence; it also reserves a withdrawal fee of up to 3% if there has been no trading or it identifies abuse.
- ActivTrades' Bahamas company is shown with a company registration number; a separate SCB licence number is not printed.
- FP Markets publishes a group-wide leverage of up to 1:500 without an entity breakdown, so check the terms of the company you sign with.
Making any offshore account safer
- Keep your balance to what you need for margin.
- Withdraw profits regularly.
- Use leverage well below the cap; Pepperstone's retail maximum on FX is 1:200.
- Save copies of the terms you signed and your statements.

If you want a MAS-licensed firm instead
IG Asia Pte Ltd, CMC Markets Singapore, OANDA, Saxo Capital Markets Pte. Ltd., Plus500SG Pte Ltd, StoneX Financial Pte. Ltd. (FOREX.com), eToro Singapore Pte. Ltd. and Phillip Securities all name Singapore companies regulated by MAS. Capital.com is not an option: our broker data shows it does not accept Singapore residents.
