Which offers better value for high volume traders, Pepperstone or Oanda?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Pepperstone offers the better published value for high-volume traders: its Razor account averages 0.1 pips on EUR/USD, with commission of $3.00 per side on cTrader or $3.50 on MT5 and TradingView.
  • OANDA publishes EUR/USD from 1.0 pip on its spread-only account, or from 0.1 pip plus a commission under Core pricing, but the commission amount is not in our verified data, so its per-lot cost cannot be calculated.
  • OANDA has one clear advantage in Singapore: a MAS capital markets services licence. Pepperstone serves Singapore from the Bahamas (SCB SIA-F217) and holds no MAS licence.
  • At 200 lots a month, Pepperstone's cTrader pricing works out to about $1,400 in spread and commission on EUR/USD.

Volume traders care about one number above all: what a round-turn lot costs, multiplied by hundreds of lots. Pepperstone publishes enough to do that sum; OANDA, in what we verified, leaves out the commission on its raw pricing.

Pepperstone's numbers add up at volume

Pepperstone's Razor account prices EUR/USD at a published 0.1-pip average and adds a fixed commission per standard lot. On cTrader that is $3.00 a side, $6 a round turn; on MT5, TradingView and the Pepperstone platform it is $3.50 a side; MT4 charges $7 when the position opens. If your account is in SGD, the published rate is SGD 4.55 a side. There is no inactivity or account-keeping fee.

What OANDA publishes, and what it leaves out

OANDA's pricing page for its BVI company shows EUR/USD from 1.0 pip on the spread-only Standard account, or from 0.1 pip plus commission under Core pricing. Both are "from" figures, so they are minimums, not averages. Because the Core commission is not stated in our data, we cannot price an OANDA lot against Pepperstone's. At the 1.0-pip floor, the Standard account would cost at least $10 a lot, so at least $2,000 for 200 lots, before any widening. OANDA's platforms are its own web/desktop portal, mobile app, MT5 and TradingView.

When OANDA is worth paying more for

  • Regulation at home: OANDA lists a MAS capital markets services licence (Co. Reg. No 200704926K). Pepperstone has none.
  • Pepperstone offers cTrader and MT4; OANDA lists neither, so cTrader users get Pepperstone's lowest commission.
  • Withdrawals: OANDA's BVI help page lists cards in one to three business days and bank wires in two to five; Pepperstone's international site lists cards up to two business days and domestic bank transfer up to seven.

A volume trader's checklist

  1. Price your real mix: gold on Razor averages 0.12, and share CFDs carry their own commission.
  2. Pick the platform with the lowest commission for your style (cTrader at Pepperstone).
  3. Ask both brokers whether active-trader pricing applies to your volume; neither publishes it in our data.
  4. Decide whether a MAS licence matters more to you than the cost difference.

Is Pepperstone cheaper than OANDA for scalping?

On published data, Pepperstone's Razor cost is about $7 a lot on cTrader. OANDA's raw-pricing commission is not in our data, so we cannot confirm a cheaper OANDA price.

Does Pepperstone offer volume rebates in Singapore?

We have not verified any active-trader rebate for Pepperstone's international site, so ask the broker before you rely on one.

Which one is MAS-regulated?

OANDA lists a MAS licence. Pepperstone does not hold one; Singapore residents contract with Pepperstone Markets Limited in the Bahamas.
