What are the trading hours for gold in Singapore?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • With Pepperstone, our pick for Singapore gold traders, the GOLD-PERP perpetual CFD trades 24/7, weekends included; the session times of its regular spot gold CFD are not in the pages we verified, so read them in the platform's symbol specification.
  • Perpetual funding is applied daily at 5 pm New York time, which is 5 am in Singapore while US daylight saving is in force and 6 am for the rest of the year.
  • Singapore residents are served by Pepperstone Markets Limited (SCB, Bahamas); Pepperstone holds no MAS licence.

A gold CFD's hours belong to the broker's contract, not to Singapore: you trade a price your broker quotes, during the sessions it sets. Here is what Pepperstone publishes, how to convert the times that matter into Singapore time, and how to see the exact session for any gold symbol.

Gold hours at Pepperstone, from a Singapore desk

Pepperstone is our choice for gold from Singapore, partly because it gives you two ways in. GOLD-PERP, a perpetual CFD on the retail margin table of the Bahamas company that serves Singapore, trades 24/7 according to Pepperstone, so you can open or close a position on a Saturday. Spot XAU/USD is the classic gold CFD, with published averages of 0.12 on Razor and 0.19 on Standard; its daily session and break times are not on the pages we verified, so check them before you plan trades around the Asian morning.

The times that matter, in SGT

Singapore does not change its clocks, but New York does, so the gap is 12 hours during US daylight saving and 13 hours the rest of the year.

How to find the exact hours for any gold symbol

  1. In MT4 or MT5, right-click the symbol in Market Watch and open Specification; sessions are listed by weekday.
  2. Note the server time zone the platform uses, then convert it to SGT.
  3. In cTrader, open the symbol's information panel to see its trading hours.
  4. Still unsure? Ask support: Pepperstone's contact page says it is available 24/7, though its account pages describe 24 hours on weekdays and 18 hours at weekends.

Perpetual or spot gold outside the usual sessions

GOLD-PERP has no expiry and carries a funding rate that Pepperstone sets weekly in advance and applies daily. That suits a trader who wants to react to news that breaks on a weekend. Spot XAU/USD has the published spread averages and runs on every Pepperstone platform, MT4 included, while perpetuals run on TradingView, MT5, cTrader and the Pepperstone app. Any position held through a weekend stays exposed while you are away from the screen, and Pepperstone does not offer guaranteed stops on the sites we checked.

The licence behind the account

Pepperstone has no Singapore entity. Accounts opened from Singapore sit with Pepperstone Markets Limited, licensed by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (SIA-F217), and the MAS directory has no Pepperstone listing. XS also accepts Singapore residents and lists XAU/USD in its swap-free terms, but the data we hold shows no session times or 24/7 gold contract for it.

Can I trade gold on a Saturday from Singapore?

With Pepperstone's GOLD-PERP, yes; Pepperstone says its perpetual CFDs trade 24/7. Spot XAU/USD follows weekday sessions shown in the symbol specification.

Does the platform show Singapore time?

Not necessarily. MetaTrader displays the broker's server time, so check which zone it uses and convert it to SGT.

When is GOLD-PERP funding charged in Singapore time?

Daily at 5 pm New York time: 5 am SGT during US daylight saving, otherwise 6 am.

CFDs are complex instruments with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage, and positions held outside normal hours can move sharply. Pepperstone's international site states that 80% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. This is not investment advice.
