Which brokers have the fastest execution and lowest latency?

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Pepperstone is our pick for fast execution: it says orders fill from 50 milliseconds, with a 99.32% fill rate and no dealer intervention, based on its trades from January to March 2026.
  • Few brokers publish comparable statistics, and our data holds no execution figures for Capital.com or XS, so a like-for-like speed ranking is not possible from published sources.
  • Latency also depends on you: where your platform runs, your connection, and whether you use a VPS. Pepperstone offers a free VPS to eligible and Pro clients.
  • Fast execution does not remove slippage. Pepperstone does not guarantee that stop-loss orders fill at your price.

Execution speed is one of the hardest things to compare, because brokers measure it differently and many publish nothing at all. Pepperstone is one of the few that puts numbers on its site, and its raw-pricing account suits latency-sensitive traders, so it is our pick. Here is what the numbers say, what they leave out and how to test them yourself.

Pepperstone's published execution figures

Pepperstone states execution "from 50 milliseconds, with a 99.32% fill rate and no dealer intervention", with fills measured on trades between 1 January and 31 March 2026. "From 50 milliseconds" is a best case, not an average, and the fill rate tells you how many orders were completed rather than at what price. Still, a broker that publishes its period and method gives you something to check against. Pair it with a Razor account (EUR/USD 0.1 pips on average plus commission) and cTrader or MT5, and you have the setup most short-term traders look for. Eligible and Pro clients can also run their platform on Pepperstone's free VPS.

What our data shows for Capital.com and XS

We have not run our own latency tests, so we rank on what is published. Capital.com and XS may execute just as quickly; they simply do not give us a figure to compare.

Measure execution yourself before you scale up

  1. Open a small live account; the $10 minimum at Pepperstone keeps the test cheap.
  2. Log the requested price, the filled price and the time for 20 or more market orders at different times of day.
  3. Repeat during a busy session and a quiet one; slippage usually shows up when liquidity is thin.
  4. If you trade from a VPS, compare the results with trading from your own computer.
  5. Only then decide whether the speed difference is worth paying commission for.

Speed does not remove the risk of slippage

Even with fast fills, a stop-loss at Pepperstone is not guaranteed to close at your exact level; in a sharp move it fills at the next available price. Retail clients on the UAE site are entitled to negative balance protection, so losses should not exceed the account balance, but with leverage of up to 1:200 on major FX they can reach that balance quickly. If guaranteed stops matter more to you than speed, look at brokers that publish them, such as IG or Plus500, and compare their costs.

Is 50 milliseconds Pepperstone's average execution time?

No. Pepperstone says "from 50 milliseconds", which is a lower bound. It does not publish an average in the figures we have.

Does a VPS make execution faster?

It reduces the delay between your platform and the broker's servers, and it keeps automated strategies running when your own computer is off. Pepperstone offers one free to eligible and Pro clients.

Which account type is best for fast execution at Pepperstone?

Most short-term traders choose Razor, which pairs raw spreads with a commission. The Standard account builds its cost into a wider spread instead.

Trading CFDs on margin is high risk: leverage can wipe out your deposit quickly, and most traders should consider whether they can afford that loss. Nothing here is investment advice. Broker terms, spreads and fees change, so confirm them with the broker before you trade.
