Best ASIC regulated CFD brokers in Australia

Updated: 2026-10-21How we test

Verdict

  • Pepperstone is our best ASIC-regulated CFD broker in Australia: AFSL 414530, Razor EUR/USD at 0.1 pips average, MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView, PayID and BPAY from $10.
  • Capital.com (AFSL 513393) is second, mainly for its guaranteed stop-loss and its own web platform and app.
  • IC Markets (AFSL 335692) publishes the lowest raw EUR/USD average we hold, 0.01 pips; FP Markets (AFSL 286354) adds the Iress platform.
  • IG, CMC Markets, eToro, Plus500, Vantage, Fusion Markets, OANDA and FOREX.com also hold Australian licences.

Plenty of CFD brokers advertise to Australians; fewer hold an Australian Financial Services Licence for the company that opens your account. Every broker below does. We rank the top two and then give each other licensed firm a one-line case, using only what the brokers publish.

1. Pepperstone: best overall

Pepperstone Group Limited holds AFSL 414530 and is headquartered on Collins Street, Melbourne. Costs are published as averages: Razor EUR/USD at 0.1 pips plus AUD 3.50 per side on MT5 in an AUD account (USD 3.00 per side on cTrader in a USD account), Standard at 1.1 pips with no commission, AUS200 at 1.5 points and Australian share CFDs at 0.07% per side. Razor runs on MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and Pepperstone's own platform. Funding is local and free: PayID, BPAY, cards and bank transfer from $10. Its weak spots are honest ones to state: no guaranteed stop-loss and no named compensation scheme.

2. Capital.com: best for guaranteed stops

Capital Com Australia Pty Ltd holds AFSL 513393. It offers a guaranteed stop-loss, which Pepperstone does not, plus its own web platform and app alongside MT4, MT5 and TradingView. Retail leverage follows the ASIC limits (30:1 on major FX, 2:1 on crypto) and the minimum deposit is 20 in USD, EUR or GBP. It shows live spreads only, so we can't rank it on a published EUR/USD average.

How we ranked them

On that basis Pepperstone leads on the combination; IC Markets would lead on the raw spread alone, and Capital.com on stop-loss certainty.

  • Licence: the Australian company must hold its own AFSL.
  • Published costs: averages count for more than 'from' figures.
  • Platform choice and local funding: PayID, BPAY and AUD accounts score well.
  • Disclosed limits: brokers that state what they don't offer earn trust.
