What are the trading hours for Asian index CFDs?
Verdict
- Pepperstone is our pick for Asian index CFDs (HK50, JPN225, CN50 and AUS200, all commission-free), but its session times were not in the pages we verified, so we don't quote hours that might be wrong.
- The exact hours for each CFD are in the symbol's specification inside the platform; on MetaTrader that is the instrument's 'Specification' window, which lists the trading sessions by day.
- CFD hours can differ from the underlying exchange's hours, and they shift around public holidays, so check them for each instrument rather than relying on a generic list.
- Singapore residents trade Pepperstone through its Bahamas entity (SCB, SIA-F217); Pepperstone has no MAS licence.
Asian index CFDs are attractive from Singapore because they move during your working day. The catch is that each one keeps its own schedule, including breaks and holiday closures. Rather than print a timetable we haven't verified, here is what Pepperstone offers and the reliable way to read the hours yourself.
Pepperstone's Asian index CFDs, and why we don't print hours
Pepperstone offers the four main Asia-Pacific benchmarks as CFDs, priced through the spread with no commission. Its published spreads are among the clearest in our data, but the session schedule for each contract was not part of the material we could verify on 21 October 2026, so we give you the method instead of a table that might be out of date. One account covers all four, plus US and European indices for the evening, in SGD or HKD if you prefer, on the Pepperstone app, MT4, MT5, cTrader or TradingView (Razor).

The four Asian index CFDs at Pepperstone
| Symbol | Benchmark | Cash CFD average spread (Razor) | Forward contract |
|---|---|---|---|
| HK50 | Hong Kong 50 (Hang Seng) | 5 points | HK50-F, from 10 points |
| JPN225 | Japan 225 (Nikkei) | 7.4 points | JPN225-F, from 16 points |
| CN50 | China A50 | 10.2 points | None in our data |
| AUS200 | Australia 200 | 1.5 points | AUS200-F, from 3 points |
How to find the exact session times
- In MT4 or MT5, open the Market Watch list, right-click the symbol (for example HK50) and choose 'Specification'; the sessions are listed by weekday.
- In cTrader, open the symbol's information panel to see its trading hours.
- Note any break in the middle of the session; some Asian benchmarks pause around lunchtime in their home market.
- Before a public holiday in Hong Kong, Japan, China or Australia, check the broker's holiday notice, because the CFD may close or open late.
- Remember the forward version can follow a different schedule from the cash CFD.
Why CFD hours and exchange hours differ
A broker's index CFD is priced from the underlying market, often its futures, rather than being the exchange's own product. That means a CFD can be quoted for longer than the stock exchange is open, while prices outside the main session tend to be thinner. For a Singapore trader, the practical rule is to judge an index by the hours its spread is published for: Pepperstone's figures are averages, and the price you see early or late in a session can be wider. Check the live quote before trading at the edges of the day.
Before you trade Asian indices from Singapore
- Retail leverage on major indices goes up to 1:200 at Pepperstone's Bahamas entity, which serves Singapore; check each index's class in the margin table.
- Holding past the daily rollover adds overnight financing on the cash CFD.
- Pepperstone has no MAS licence and names no compensation scheme for these clients; MAS-licensed alternatives include IG, CMC Markets, Saxo and Plus500.
- XS accepts Singapore residents, but we hold no verified index hours or spreads for it.

Can I trade the Hang Seng CFD during Singapore office hours?
The Hong Kong market is open during the Singapore working day, but check HK50's exact sessions in your platform's symbol specification.
Do Asian index CFDs trade at the weekend?
Not as far as we know for Pepperstone's cash index CFDs; its 24/7 perpetuals for Singapore clients cover gold, oil and the two US indices, not Asian ones.
Why does the CFD quote outside exchange hours?
Brokers often price index CFDs from futures, which can trade longer than the stock market. Liquidity is thinner then, so spreads can widen.
Is there a commission on Asian index CFDs at Pepperstone?
No; the cost is the spread, for example 5 points on HK50.
Asian index CFDs are leveraged and can gap at the open or after a session break; losses can be rapid. Always confirm trading hours in your own platform. Not investment advice.
